which is kind of true. by the time nodd arrives shoma is out of the pod to give someone else a turn. there's minimal healing, enough that he's not bleeding and the chest wound is closed, and his burns and bruises are healed to a minimal degree. the area around his eye is healed the most, but it's currently shut. he's probably going to have to pod himself again later, but that's later. but he does wave a little. ]

Hey. Just...another Thursday, right? [ there is definitely still a pile of petals in rust, plum and olive colors on the floor next to him but he's ignoring those. ]

[ nodd's expression wasn't hard, before, but it certainly softens for shoma. yeah, shoma looks out for himself fine. doesn't change that he's the youngest crew member, nor that, in general, nodd would rather not see a good person hurt. ]

Wish Keith had mentioned who'd be on the mission with him.

[ froooown. possibly at the pod keith is still in. ]

I'm not sure if any of us mentioned it, to be honest. Probably all figured it'd be standard procedure. In and out and back. [ gazing at the pods with his singular eyeball. ] ...and I get it. It's hard to mention when you think it'll just worry people.

[ it's not very fair, is it? on nodd's cyoa, yuri took the majority of the end game damage and even that was nowhere near what others have suffered. ]

Yeah, but I think you're allowed to worry people sometimes.

I think people have been worrying about me this entire time probably more than most. [ and he knows it's because of his age. ] I don't know if I want to give them more reasons to when that was...bad for everybody. Including Io.

You aren't wrong at all. You're a kid and good people worry about good kids. It's an exasperating combination, but better than the alternatives.

[ stepping over to oh so gently tap shoma's shoe with his sandal. ]

I'll only accept it if people are giving the other three the same treatment. [ pouting slightly. ]

They are. I shot Io and when he gave me lip, I told him to shut up. Not sure if you were fully conscious for that.

[ it was the most fun nodd has had in ever. telling men to be quiet is great. ]

Uh, admittedly, no. I wasn't exactly paying attention to everything going on when we got back because it's always so busy. [ people are freaking out and hustling and it's a lot of activity. ] But thank you. For making sure he was taken care of, too. He really helped us out back there.

I don't blame you.

[ there was no expectation that shoma witness nodd's finest moment. ]

Even the fussiest adults around here will get patched up. Even I get patched up. Nobody's left bleeding. And it probably makes them all feel better if they can worry about the kid who works hard and cares hard. You might have to grin and bear it for a while.

[ he sort of huffs out a sigh. ]

...I know you're right. But it's still hard knowing they might be more worried about it because because of it. Yeah, everyone's getting the same treatment but...it's hard to know what people are really thinking. [ a pause. ] Maybe that part doesn't really matter right now.

[ it'll just be something he thinks about himself. ]

Wow. I'm right? And it's true, because you said it. Let's enjoy that for a moment.

[ avoids the hair ruffle and gives a shoulder pat instead. ]

Don't push your luck. [ this is a joke. ] You do have your moments where you make complete sense.
